Faylen Naemenor – Wizard

Faylen Naemenor, a tall and slender elf, presents a striking figure. Her pale skin and long, braided blonde hair are typical of her kind, but her piercing blue eyes often seem to be focused on something just beyond the immediate surroundings. Standing at 5’10”, she towers over both Makhulim and Marcho, yet her demeanor is often ethereal, as if she exists partially in another realm.

Faylen is the arcane companion and aloof friend of The Roving Adventurers exploring Hyebrenia.

Heritage

While her elven heritage suggests a natural affinity for magic, Faylen has a peculiar relationship with the arcane arts. She can cast spells, and possesses a considerable theoretical knowledge of magic, but her absent-mindedness and easily distracted nature often lead to… unexpected results. Spells meant to heal might cause uncontrollable giggling, and fireballs intended for enemies could just as easily set the party’s cart ablaze. This magical unpredictability has led her to rely more on her longbow, “Charm,” than on her arcane abilities.

“Charm” is more than just a weapon, however. It’s a constant source of distraction for Faylen. The bow was a gift from a suitor at the mage academy, a young man whom she scorned. His spirit, for reasons unknown, now resides within the bow, whispering constantly to Faylen. These spectral murmurs, often filled with unrequited affection and arcane secrets, further contribute to her already scattered thoughts. It’s a constant battle for Faylen to focus on the task at hand, with the spectral suitor vying for her attention. Ironically, the bow meant to charm her is now a constant source of her magical mishaps.

Motivations?

Despite her quirks and distractions, Faylen harbors a secret affection for Marcho. She admires his quick wit and pragmatic approach to life, a stark contrast to her own often chaotic existence. Whether this affection will ever blossom into something more remains to be seen, as Faylen is often too preoccupied with the whispers in her bow and the potential for magical mayhem to truly focus on matters of the heart. For now, she observes Marcho from afar, a silent observer of his roguish exploits, hoping that one day, she can find the focus to tell him how she truly feels.
